If you want to save the world, buy and maintain an old petrol car and run it on LPG. That way you are not supporting the polluting manufacturing of new cars. Older cars are lighter and need less energy to move and stop, they are also much more gentle on the tires, and tires are a big polluting factor. An EV vehicle is in most cases above 2 tons while a petrol hatchback from 2010 is about 1400kg- think about it and be honest- which is more polluting a the end? But noone speaks about these points...

Quite apart from anything else, that BMW i3 is the ugliest thing to ever carry a BMW badge! It's hideous, with weird lines that don't follow through to any other part of the car. It's like designing it was a team effort, but the team never met each other, or talked to each other, or lived in the same country....

Jeremy was about to make an excellent point. Currently, all the western countries are scrambling to build enough renewable generation to replace fossil fuels and we arent even close.
What is supposed to happen when everyone who is currently runnine petrol cars changes to EV?
We havnt got enough renewables for the current demand let alone future

Stop calling them electric cars...they are battery cars and nothing new. We had them in the 60s and 70s...we called them milk floats.

Electric vehicles just create more of a hassle than necessary. Filling up a car with petrol takes 5 minutes, then you’re out of there. To recharge with electricity, wait an hour then have to recharge again in 5 minutes. Not worth it
