Garter Snake Update

Fabulous, healthy little snakes.
I had a "aaaw" moment because my favorite garter snake was also called Houdini as he could escape from anything.
Most of my garters were very calm when handled but you are so right about cages that open from the top.
Nervous snakes hate having things come at them from above and switching to front opening terrariums can get nervous snakes to feed when they didn't before or accept handling when they used to just panic. I suppose it is the same as with birds in a badly placed cage. People leaning over them or throwing a shadow is just like having a hawk flying above
I have kept many snakes from the most common to the very rare. And yet...my two favorite snakes were Houdini the red sided garter and Geronimo, the California king snake. Also a spectacled cobra which are highly intelligent animals but I would never recommend poisonous snakes to anybody who doesn't need to work with them professionally as you nearly always get bitten at some point no matter what precautions you take and any escape is potentially deadly to neighbours and pets.
I'll say it again but am truly impressed at the way you take care of your animals and the respect you have for them.

Helllo aqua!!! Is chicken egg shell has enough calsuim for my tortiose? buc i live in desert and i cant offer the cattlefish shell nor the poweder thx and sry for my bad english :')
