Finding a Big Garter Snake

Looks like a blue-striped garter snake. Absolutely gorgeous. He's definitely been eating well. On my list of garter morphs I'd like to own one day. Hopefully you didn't get musked on with how defensive that chonky guy was. Lol.

Large gravid female. I suspect those aren't ribs poking out, rather catfish spines from pectoral or dorsal fins. I've seen it before. Doesn't seem to cause a problem to puncture the animal after ingestion.

Holy Cow! Huge! That looks like a Florida Blue Garter Snake. I can tell by the stomach.

Oh yea. A few days ago I saw a baby. I didn’t know what snake it was, but remembered it was a garter. Specifically an eastern garter. I found him when lifting our football. Right under, was a baby Eastern Garter Snake. I held him and he kept running for shade. I left him though and haven’t seen him since 😂
I also just found an adult in my backyard. Tried to bite me 😂

I’ve caught them way big. The biggest was five feet

I have a checkered garter snake in my pool his name is checkers and he is about 2.5 feet long and we are now friends he lets me pet him and pick him up
