Diode lasers can engrave beautiful artwork designs but are you able to cut out leather patterns and stitching holes? If so, how thick of leather can you cut? Join me as I experiment with the Aufero Laser 2 with the Lu2-10a 10 watt laser. Lets see if it cuts leather clean enough to use for your projects.

Awesome Video, very informative. I was dyeing of laughter when you said the dye remark. It is good to see the finished products with examples of all the different settings. I appreciate your opinion on what you would personally use when making leather. A lot of videos I've seen will only show you a couple of examples or just show the finished product without the settings needed to achieve it. Keep on cutting that leather and please make more videos. Subscribed.

Thank you! I was looking to see if a 10W diode laser was going to work well enough or if I needed to invest in something stronger. This video will save me some money when I get my yearly bonus and can pick up a machine. You have my like and sub, great work, lot's of information and no excessive machine building or time lapse of full cuts.

I agree, I think air assist should come with any laser you buy. This was my first laser and I still use it to this day. Air assist in a important.

Thank you very much, really appriciate you took the time for making this vid. Good to know the laser can makes little stitching holes. The vid helped me to buy one, although it will be a 20 watt. I am aware the 10 Watt can do the job without efford, but the 20 Watt is probably a bit quicker. Again, thank you

How did you set the parameters for your hole size, spacing (I use a 4mm hand hole punch), distance from edge? Did you have to custom design it in Lightburn? Thanks

I am doing lots of leather cutting/engraving on my WeCreat Vision 20w and it's amazing. Only ONE issue... The smell of the leather, even after cleaning it, is not good. I have looked far and wide for a good solution to that. What I'm doing right now is putting my leather work into a box and using an Ozone generator to get rid of the smell. Are you aware of another, hopefully better, way of dealing with the burnt leather smell. It is particularly noticeable on leather pint glass sleeves and earrings...Thank you.
