GDI or Direct Fuel Injected Engines can suffer from carbon deposits or intake valve buildup due to the fact that there is no fuel spraying at the back of the valve to keep it clean. In this video Lake Speed Jr. explains how the oils Volatility or NOACK has something to do with intake valve deposits. DRIVEN RACING OIL's DI Oil line is formulated to help prevent this.

I was all excited about this oil for my GDI sonata. Then I saw Noack rating of 10...I believe Mobil 1 is about the same. AMsoil is supposedly rated around 5!

How does DRIVEN achieve this? Do they lower the additive pack (calcium and anti-wear ZDDP) content to that of a "C" grade oil? If so, I assume there must be MoS2 and Boron to compensate. Lowering the Ash content also reduces protection the engine gets in high heat/pressure zones too, but how about detergency? Can we know the magnesium (detergent) levels compared to other oils in the DRIVEN line? This isn't touted as an extended interval oil so I'm assuming the minimum interval applies. That can be expensive to say the least at almost $20 a quart. One specific competitor claims not only no LSPI occurrences in five trials but also a (potential) 30K mileage interval. What exactly are we getting for our investment with DRIVEN?

Quick question, my lil 1.5 na honda fit DI works better the hotter the engine gets. Would going from a 5w20 to 0w20 help, hurt, or not make a difference in gaining horsepower? Thank you so much!
