What Is a serving of spinach?

Nutritionally, leafy vegetables have diverse micronutrient and phytonutrient profiles, but they all tend to be low in calories and high in fiber, folate, manganese, carotenoids, and vitamin K1 (which is involved in photosynthesis, and therefore is particularly high in plant leaves!). A serving is standardized as 2 cups raw, but most leafy greens shrink by 3 to 6 times when cooked!

I’m so confused about this. I bought a giant bag of spinach and it says the bag is 170g of Spinach and that it’s one serving in this enormous bag. But the conversion of 170grams is like 1/2 cup. I’m coming to the conclusion that the benefits of spinach aren’t worth the amount you need to eat.

Thank you for the visuals. It helps to get past the amount I assume I should be eating.

I'm never intimidated by eating whole foods... but I've lately been intimidated by cooking lol. Time issues :P So I love raw things.. even if it happens to take a lot of time to rinse it off, at least I can stop when I need to, hehe.

God forbid you weigh them in grams because that might be accurate and not so dumb.
