Difference between the industrial Revolution and pending job elimination is that during the Industrial Revolution, the factory’s were already standing with Jobs waiting. Today, when a corporation eliminates 10, 000 FTE jobs from technology, there are 0 waiting jobs for 10, 000 humans who’re unemployed.

Even if that same corporation creates a thousand jobs to service the machines, they’re not “job creators”. Only when they replace those 10, 000 lost jobs with 10, 001 FTE jobs, can they be said to create jobs. They’re only job eliminators until then.

Who’s going to buy their products or services? Broke Unemployed people don’t buy product or pay taxes.

You are only scratching the surface with that segment. There much more socio-economical impact that what is presented. What about the precarization of labor, the unemployment rise, ...

This is exactly what Andrew Yang is talking about that AI is going to be disruptive to the common jobs like retail, heavy manual laborer, truck drivers, call center and other jobs. His Freedom Dividend/UBI of $1000 a month to citizens over 18 would soften the blow of loosing a job because of AI. Whether Yang is elected as president or not, whomever is elected should be wise to choose Yang's policy of UBI to move America Forward.

Did....did the people making predictions about AI, actually have a background in AI? Or just propaganda was spread?

Plus, really disappointed that concepts like negative tax returns weren't brought up. Little depth.
