What do you get when you ask the founder of one of the world's most significant HR Firms about the future of work? A completely unintuitive answer that speaks to the revolution in the world of work and a passionate case for an idea whose time has come.

Rudy is passionate about creating jobs that matter. He revolutionized the global human resource space over 25 years through the KENEXA organization. He grew it to become one of the world’s most significant HR firms valued at over a billion dollars, and IBM recently acquired KENEXA in a record deal. He has gone on to found Karlani Capital, an operating fund that aims to “enable the growth and success of ideas that are original, interesting and potentially useful to people.” Actuary, NYTimes bestselling author, family man, uber entrepreneur. This is something that I've been thinking about a lot recently. Jobs will go. We have to transition to a new way of living.

Great video. "We create work for ourselves" This is exactly what freedom is. Freedom is not about relaxing and doing nothing all day as some people may think if you get a basic income. Freedom is following a passion that gives meaning to your life. Not because you have to, but because you want to. I tackled an aspect of this subject in my new video: 3 hobbies everyone should have. I call work a hobby instead of a job.

It used to be that work was necessary for survival. In this situation, capable people who don’t work can truly be called parasites. In a society where jobs are dwindling, calling people who don’t work “parasites” is victim blaming.

Once the fear of survival is eliminated, many can focus on their true calling and therefore will perform better at whatever they choose to pursue.

Once money is no longer a factor in life, greed will diminish, planned obsolescence will no longer be a business model, products will be designed to last longer, pollution will naturally decrease.

This talk is one of the best things I've heard in a long time. I will re-watch it and listen even more closely to this man's words, and I suspect that it will bring me new things. I suggest we all seriously think about this, deeply, since it contains many layers. Thanks for sharing this!!!

Being someone who's lived on social benefits for 20 yet has also been working for not just my own benefit, but societies benefit too, throughout this time period. I applaud this speech and see the mentality of a guaranteed universal income a high priority.
I used to present a community radio show, yet at the end of this show i did not even have the finances to buy a cup of coffee. I went out of my way to present a professional show for my community - for no pay. Yet my community couldn't present me with the human dignity of being able to buy a drink for my hard work. Hence i was financially/socially excluded from my which caused greater damage to my health.

I absolutely love the idea of UBI. Can you please provide a link to how it can be done? I really enjoy TED Talks. They are super inspirational. Thank you for your talk.

UBI is the economic side of treating people as members of the universal family.

understanding of neglegence and failed responsibility to nurture future generations with love, compasion, and best intreast will continue the cycle of karma unless we free ourselves and be consciouss about false beliefes that burden future generations. with this level of concsiousness, we will have unity and resonate to the frequency of those that are in need of healing of the soul to change the reality for the well being of humanity.

I've spent several days scanning over these comments and I'm perplexed by many of them. So many people act as though there is a choice to be made here. The machines are coming for all of our jobs. if we don't redistribute the wealth they create in some way, billions of people will slowly starve to death. There is no other option.

Most have Stockholm's syndrome in regards to jobs and our economy... We must shed that past off our backs and embrace an abundant worldview.

Once I started looking into robotic systems, AI, exponential growth and UBI universal basic income (freedom dividend) - it's amazing how many TED Talks there are and how many great minds have researched this and put their information out for everyone to see, hear and read. I now support Andrew Yang for president because he is the candidate that has a vision of what will happen and what is happening. He is forward-thinking on how to go with the future and not being overcome by it

I hate it when people talk about 'technology' that are available, but not 'economically sustainable yet'. The technology we have is impressive, yes. But we are still far away from implementing it everywhere.
