I don't think you can really conclude that increasing grip strength specifically will increase strength globally, the fact that they are correlated is probably just due to the fact that people who do any kind of resistance training or heavy labour are almost always using their hands to grip heavy stuff.

Training up for SFAS or another selection? I'd love to hear any of your military or hybrid training thoughts. Especially related to rucking and programming

I've always had monster grip strength, from doing rock climbing and then working as a mechanic, and dirtbike riding beleive it or not made them even stronger. but something I've struggled with is chronic tendinitis in the muscles for opening the hands, and the ones for closing splayed fingers, in a flat hand. Like anything, if you build some monster grip strength, be sure to do some balancing of the opposing muscles, so you can keep ripping phone books or whatever till you are an old fart, hah.

Is it true that grip is one of the things that will have little to no change in strength as you age?

Hey, just found your channel.
I was wondering if you had any videos on strengthening the wrists? I noticed that I can't do some of the exercises people commonly offer because my wrist either hurts or cracks too much and this gets in the way of slow, controlled movement

just watched this while waiting for your vid on knuckle conditioning to come out, ive got a question:can simply contracting a muscle to its max and holding it for time make you gain muscle and strength? (ive basically been doing that for grip strength, just trying my hardest to crush uncrushable objects and ive been trying it out for lats which made me super sore), i'd imagine it would lead to an increase in muscle mass since it would be a TRUMENDOUS AMOUNT of muscular tension and its mimicking a maximal isometric which as far as i know maximal isometrics have some INSANE effects in terms of strength, due to motor unit recruitment improving and muscle fiber type slowly switching to faster twitch, so, what do you say?

I guess at the end of the day all this just depends on what your using it for how long you want to sustain it and is it necessary for lifestyle. For Example pro armwrestler vs mountain climber vs powerlifter vs bodybuilder vs strongman vs normal human. All use forearms in a different sense. But what fun is life if you aint pushing yourself to the limit though lol.
