Do your challenges longer, people wouldn’t care if the number of uploads went down if we could actually see real results from them

Used a rice bucket for 3 years while playing college baseball. In my experience, results were better after long term use. Strength gains were more functional and benefited explosiveness and mobility. Also noticed healthier function in my throwing elbow and increased bat speed. This isn't mean to be a purely strength based exercise. There are far more benefits to the strength of forearm flexor muscles and small muscles in the wrist and hand. Similar to the importance of rotator cuff, flex tube workouts.

A completely aesthetic benifit of rice training is after about two weeks the rice will polish your fingernails like you would not believe! It's like a manicure and a workout all at once.

Back in the Marines (late 70's), in Okinawa, Japan my instructor had us doing something very similar but in fine sand to start with, to toughen our hands and fingers! After so long, course sand was used then gravel and finally small stones! Repetition was every other day (3X per week). The only differences that I remember was that we (the students) practiced spear hand strikes, knuckle strikes, and punches along with 'twist the stone' which was grabbing a hand full of sand and rotating it like you were twisting a stone. If you're a masochist, then definitely train with traditional Korean instructors, they'll make you happy!

rice bucket training was a part of our strength and conditioning programming for rugby in college.. generally used as a finisher. Good to see ppl still doing it

Keep doing it man i think you need at least a month or 2 to see a difference. Its like working out for a week and expecting to get stronger after just 1 week

what you're feeling reminds me of when i first started doing sheet metal construction. swinging a 19oz hammer all day and hand shaping metal. forearms were on point and grip strength went up quite a lot over the time i was doing construction. :edit: keep in mind the rice training also conditions and strengthens tendons. low impact and the resistance is feedback based. if you go light then it's light resistance if you go hard then it's more.

Cool video! You should definitely keep it up maybe every other day and then do an update video in 2 months. Seeing hypertrophy after 1 week of training is unlikely to be significant

I love videos like this that really encapsulate the idea that you can truly work out and grow stronger using anything at your disposal if you perform the activities with the proper intensity and mind muscle connection.

Like a lot of the comments already suggest, I don't think you're going to see any size gain after just seven days, but if you continue for an entire season (3 months), undoubtedly you will have the sacred rice gains.

my guy i wish you did these vids for longer than a week bc you cant really take them seriously, bc effects after 7 days arent really indicative of long term prospects, really liked your video about red light exposure, bc you can feel/see that you really do use it bc you like it/ the effects

I think it'd be sick if you did a video about different overcoming isometrics exercises and discover how much strength they can build short term.

I'm a former pitcher and one helpful coach recommended a rice bucket for shoulder and wrist exercises that I could do chillin watching TV and the only injury I ever had with my arm involved my elbow so take from that what you will.

I literally never had shoulder pain one day of my playing years. A little soreness after a 100+ pitch outing? Sure. But NEVER pain or injury. Just felt like I did a hard workout and needed a day or two of recovery.

I haven't done the bucket in years but I'm thinking of getting one and doing it for general strength and injury prevention.

Started this today. Done all my measurements and I'm just aiming to do one or two follow along videos on youtube. Aiming for every day as I imagine my forearms should heal up quickly. Only done measurements on the upper forearm at 29cm. If i can get about 1cm i'll be over the moon!! I might report back every week or so depending how well this comment does. All the best guys

Construction workers have massive hands and forearms. I'm going to do this myself. Have nerve damage on my right hand but movements are coming back after some years. Hopefully this helps me out.
Thanks for the video

7 days is too short of a timespan to see any significant changes. Should atleast try it for 2-3 months
