Man, i just cannot understand some people... they make you think you have to get what’s newer, i mean constantly, just buying things that are newer, the only reason being to be able to say that you got the newest ipad/iphone etc. this Ipad is my upgrade from ipad air 1, mainly because of the multitasking upgrade and the processor. The a9 is a moderate laptop processor as far as power is concerned. Of course it’s worth buying in 2018. I seriously doubt that apple will come up with another 9.7 standard ipad less than a year before the release of this one. I am a chemistry teacher and i use this ipad for making presentations, documents for the students and hand written notes with the use of bamboo fineline 3 stylus. I got a keyboard case and i can write anything i can imagine on this device, with the right apps of course. So i jist don’t get many of the comments i see here. The gap on the non laminated display isn’t even visible when you use the ipad. The only setback is use in sunlight but how often do you really use an ipad on a bright sunlight? I bought it at its release and it is worth every euro i soent on it. It is running flawlessly and amazingly fast on everything i do.

I’ve had my iPad 2017 since thanksgiving and I love it. I got it on sale for $250. I can easily get 12 hours on one charge.

Watching this video on my iPad 2017 space gray. I use mine all the time and I have not used my laptop ever since I bought this November last year. Very versatile and battery life is excellent. User experience is simply the best! :)

its for sure worth it, I've had it since December and ive loved it, even with its small shortcomings, however you can't compare it to a surface, this is just a tablet running mobile applications, the surface is a full fledged computer.

I brought the 2017 one in 2018 because I won’t use the Apple Pencil. The display is still excellent. The only benefit would be the processor but the difference wasn’t enough for me to spend the extra cash, I think this iPad will still stay fast for the 4-5 years people tend to have iPads for, I’m still with the iPhone 6s, not upgraded that yet. I was always hesitant about purchasing an iPad or other tablet as I thought it was just a bigger phone and I guess I could do all the tasks I use it for on my phone but for whatever reason I don’t. I always used my phone and my laptop. Now it’s my phone and my iPad. I never use my laptop, even for tasks like word processing, file management and attaching documents to email. I always use my iPad, I love it.

This iPad is still so fast I recommend it even after owning the iPad Pro 10.5.... this is the best priced apple device in my opinion
