I understand people wanting to have a bit of fun. I can also understand those running the station not wanting to have to deal with a whole mess of people who aren't even there to buy a ticket and whose only purpose in going is to listen to an announcement.

King Cross Station is not owned by Warmer Brothers, or JK Rowling. And the fans there can make the customers/travelers journey more chaotic.

Kudos to you. It always amazes me how much you can find out about the Harry Plotter series.

Apparently fans want a physical place to meet, but the event became an obstacle for ordinary travelers and too much work for the staton to manage. I guess a compromise is needed, like a version of the station copy at some Harry Potter amusement park. There we may even see a train departure more often, with more safety measures.

Yeah, I wondered what would happen since Sept. 1 fell on a Sunday this year. Living in the US, King's Cross Station is a bit far for me to travel. But you know what? It would be fun to go there someday.

Would it be possible to do a short video on Scholastic canceling Mina Lima's partnership with them and not allowing them to continue on with the illustrated series? Kind of want attention on this; it was heartbreaking to hear since books 1-3 were beautifully done and I was looking forward to the rest of the series being completed.

Having the announcement and train schedule is just a tiny little bit of fun that means so much for everyone. Why was it not done this year?
I'm not living in the UK so never attended but it seems like such a small thing to do to bring so much joy to so many. It's like not lighting the christmas tree lights. It kinda takes away the magic of it all.

I decided on that day (September 1st) to simply watch the YouTube video about Platform 9 3/4 from the Philosopher's Stone film.

It was dumb to still go to KC, what were they expecting? It would have been my first attendance but I had already booked my trip so I ended up going to the princess Diana exhibition lol. I understand the inconveniences the event brings to the station but a real life event would be better. They didn't even organize a movie marathon or something.

I'm a die hard fan, but imagine being so entitled that you boo at a rail station because they don't do a reference to your fav movie series that ended a decade ago 😂

They literally stated "There will be no event"....Why did people think there "would be an event" Their inability to understand 5 words is incomprehensible.

Although it must have been fun and i would definitely have attended if i could, i get it. It is a train station with thousands of people trying to get to their works/travel etc. Also employees working there. The place is not owned by JK Rowling or warner Bros, so yeah this better not take place there. One can visit any day to see the station and the Harry Potter store inside anyway. No reason for the disruption to other passengers by potterheads on September 1st.

I think it’s sad, this is something that not only Warner brothers have marketed as a thing but also something that kings cross has also entertained for many years now which is my fans have come to expect this celebration. Not everyone will have know that they have said that there’s not an event happening so I don’t think you can fully blame the people who turned up. I think what should have happened is more of a widespread announcement that there will be no celebration with signs around the station informing people that nothing will happen and also I think wb should have recognised that with such a big turn out in previous years that they need to offer an alternative in person event for the UK and not a pathetic half arsed pre recorded video!!! Also they waited too long to make the announcement, people had already book travel and expensive hotels for this that they couldn’t get refunds on so obviously we’re still going to turn up!! I don’t blame the fans, I blame the station and wb for making this a thing and then suddenly stopping it when it got too big and not giving an alternative!

Video suggestion: Could Muggle become the master of the Elder wand, if he/she somehow kills the current owner?

Those people should get a grip. They were told it was not going to happen.
