My xbox one controller is drifting and as of typing amazon wont have any xbox series controllers of any color in stock for a couple weeks but my local best buy had a pulse red one in stock so I shacked ut up for curbside pickup glad to know it'll work

You can also use your current Xbox charger station because the new controller comes with a huge USB-C cable. Although it won't tell when it's full but as long as it shows a solid bar it's good. In addition, the new charger sold separately doesn't have a indicator like the Xbox One X charger does. Now you known.
