"why not tmux?" Because I've been using screen since hte 90's and it works for me. That and I don't like splitting my terminal windows.

Everyone's using it saying it's awesome, but I don't know why, splitting the witdth of my terminal screen stresses me out, like it feels like i cant see whats going on (even if i completely can).
Iv always preferred being fullscreen and using just multiple tabs and multiple workspace which is alreary handled by default either by nvim or my emulator

'screen' also allows you to do this

As someone who has been in devops for 20 years i fight the urge to not slap new people that use tmux.. With tmux its too easy to run the wrong command in the wrong window and screw up a system. Use ssh and screen if you need the session to live on after you logout..

How is this better than just using screen?

Because I'm using screen which can do same in all relevant aspects, but also comes with about any Linux vanilla system.

Using it through ssh on servers, but on my rig I use Kitty terminal which has panes and tabs and all gpu accelerated
