You need to know how to use TMUX

I've found tmux to be a huge timer saver for Linux/Mac administration and I want to help you get started with it too.

Commands:

Control + B + C - create
Control + B + N - next
Control + B + P - previous

Control + B + D - detach
tmux attach - reconnect

For Linux get tmux with:

sudo apt-get install -qy tmux

The "C-" part refers to the control key. It's emacs-style notation. Similarly "M-" is the meta (alt) key.

I've never seen tmux installed by default. I've always had to install it. on the mac via homebrew!

@ 2:30, the "-T copy-mode" means that line is for the keybindings active in copy mode. The "C-p" keybinding (and others) you're talking about is way lower, under "-T prefix". (Reinforces that it's super complicated, and there's a ton of things on there!)

tmux ls will get the list of sessions, just like the ls in bash.
the man pages are a little easier to read than the help

On a MacBook Air running Catalina the commands work by first pressing first Ctrl, then b, followed by third key. for example I don't press Ctrl +b (together) + d (to detach)... I press Ctrl then I press b and after half a second I press the d key and the command will execute. Is this a bug or I am missing the idea behind C+b?

Stupid question maybe: If your pc crashes (power off), what will happen to your tmux sessions? Do I suppose that the sessions stay open on the remote server/terminal or something else? I'm trying to figure out how it works.. Thanks..

Is there a way to use tmux with tiling window manager such as AweseomeWM (Awesome Window Manager).

So if use AwesomeWM's ability to open 3 different terminals (each in their own separate window tile).

Can I open the session in Window Tile 1, and then go to Window Tile 2 and attach to the same session that Window Tile 1 has already opened?

Can I then go to Window Tile 3, and also attach to the same session that now Window Tile 1 and Window Tile 2 are attached to?

Why are mac users almost always up to hoodies and other unneeded stuff (five petal screws, etc.)? Is it possible to avoid redundancies and switch to GPL-3 analog for their hardware? And, in the end, do at least one thing well enough?..

I would prefer putting my hands into and soldering something instead of having a system which is so unstable and bad - any repair is a heavy headache - overly expensive and corrupt towards our society.
