He left out a very important detail: If you use the powder, you need to get a broom and sweep it around so it works its way deep into the carpet. It's also not very effective on hard survaces

will the fleas seem worse a few hours after applying? we did this technique and a few hours after the fleas seem a bit worse. not sure if it's a response to trying to escape the carpets or not

This really does work amazingly well. One of the apartment communities I manages here in Virginia had a REALLY bad cockroach infestation. We brought in a local pest control company and they used this product mixed with peanut butter to make a paste and with in 30 days the problem was almost entirely gone! If I decided to use this product in this way, what would the best ratio be?

You add 1 tablespoon per 16 oz of water in a spray bottle.

I'm not so sure that borax even still has boric acid in it. I looked at the packaging and it doesn't say boric acid. Maybe they bowed to fear mongering and removed their main ingredient? But you can buy it cheap anywhere, usually a chemical company in your area sells it, if your local dollar store is out of it, because many people DO BUY IT for this exact purpose.

Amazon sells it and its not too expensive!

Killing fleas is not going to happen in one day. There is something out there called IGR which is an Insect Growth Regulator. What that does is it keeps the fleas from being able to change forms, such as egg to larvae and larvae to pupal stage. I have never heard of anything being able to kill the pupal stage. IGR also prevents the adult flea from reproducing as well. Types of IGR are for example the Precor that was in the background of this video.

@s8tin It's not toxic, it's used in eyewash solutions for godsakes.

@OptifIex BTW you know if you get a bees nest burrowing into your home and an exterminator comes in with a long tube and sticks it into the nest and pumps white powder into it? Guess what the main ingredient was? Yup, along with some poison for good measure.

Boric acid sounds impressive. It's not people see the word acid and think of stuff that eats through metal! Boric acid was the main ingredient in the most popular clothes detergent for 100 years called Borax. It also was used to wash peoples eyes out, mixed simply with water!
