Just be carful not to breath the dust, and don’t use too much. It can irritate animals nasal passages and lungs -and yours as well. A little goes a long way to kill tiny insects!

I worked for months fighting fleas. One treatment of this. No more fleas.

It’s important to NOTE that it’s highly toxic if inhaled! Thus extreme care should be taken on application for both pet and companion. When applying to your pet’s food it should first be mixed with a little water or olive oil for the same reason

I've using this for 2 decades. It works GREAT! I take it too for my intestinal biom as well as removing heavy metals. Just be cautious to not breath it in for you or your pup!

I've been using this for 13 years and have no flea issues with my pets or breathing issues. Also, I use this with baking soda, and a few peppermint essential oil drops dust the carpet, let it sit for 45 minutes, and vacuum it up. It gets rid of musky smells and leaves the house refreshed. I do it once or twice a month on the carpet.

It's a natural bed bug deterrent in cracks and crevices, too!

I’ve used this before but it dried out my dogs skin and hair really bad and made them scratch like mad! I do use it outside but decided not to use it on them directly bc if this.

Yea works and yea get FOOD GRADE. But 4
things to note:
1 it’s suuuuper drying so in between the treatments need a rub down with coconut oil, and 2- it does NOT kill eggs or larvae. Brush animals and vacuum a lot, and wash bedding daily while doing this.
3- it becomes ineffective if wet
4- learn about the flea cycle to help you make decisions on this.
Happy dusting!

I add DE to my dogs food. Mix in well... It kills paralysis ticks, here in Australia.

The best powder in the world. Diatomaceous earth 👍💪

I agree, although I also use a coconut oil rub over their paw pad as it super drying to their skin. My border collie and his brother both developed BCC after they were treated with NEXGUARD, now they can’t cool down by panting and their thyroids are damaged.

Where I live (in The Netherlands) a lot of dog owners give their dog(s) buttermilk (real buttermilk from an eco farm) each day and They never find fleas or ticks on their dog. Buttermilk in most shops is actually not real buttermilk these days…..

I bought DE years ago at a feed store would that be considered food grade.? I had it in two Ziploc bags and a little dust flew up when i opened it😭. First time using it the other day, a stray i rescued with either a uti or kidney infection urinates on himself which had created maggots going into a small hole by his testicles! I put some of this on him and it killed the maggots. There were these other little squirmy fast moving bugs on him. Great stuff. Thanks doc for the miralax advice this kitty hadnt pooped in 5 days, he was so dyhdrated. I got generic brand of Miralax and worked within in hour! Thank u, you're a life saver

Been using it for a decade. Plants love it, extra nutrients for them and keeps the insects away 👍

It really does work. Use this with your recipe for anti flea and tick spray with the witch hazel with aloe, cedar oil, coconut oil, neem oil and something else I forget. Cheers

But be extra sure to vacuum it OFF your pet (especially cats!)
after you sprinkle it on very lightly!

Because cats lick all their fur, I decided years ago (when I discovered using Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth) for fleas, to NOT use it on the pet, but in and around it’s environment.

So I mixed it 50/50 with Borax, then lightly sprinkled it evenly over the areas the cats hung out in our home.

Areas such as the wall-to-wall carpet in one room (other rooms were tile and a couple had 8’x10’ rugs), and a fabric covered chaise, and if course the bed.

After working it into the carpet a little (I had a kids plastic leaf rake), and just used my hand to brush it on the bed’s mattress), I let it sit for a few hours (without any pets in the room), then vacuumed it up.

Just do one room or area area time.
No need to go crazy and do the entire apartment or house all in the same day.

Also, you should only DUST it on LIGHTLY.
This is important because you do not want to put your vacuum cleaner at risk of getting clogged and not working.

My 3 cats NEVER had fleas until we were stuck living in a motel between moving from one house to another.

In the Spring, fleas suddenly emerged and cats brought them into the house.

But the 50/50 DE and Borax mix LIGHTLY sprinkled on only the carpeted and fabric-covered areas affected, worked immediately.

In fact, a little over 10 YEARS LATER, I have NEVER needed to reapply it again.

And I did vacuum a couple times after I had worked it in and let it sit for a few hours.

And over the years it had been vacuumed many times since.

But of course, have never used it directly on the cats.

I buy large bags from tractor supply company. Yes it does. I pour it on the bedding of my mini horse and boar goat bedding. I use it around the doors . I don't have to worry about the birds and my ducks.
