It's the mental piece for me - the constant, nagging food chatter (cravings) in my head trying to convince me to eat when I'm not hungry. Then the immediate gratification (high) when I finally do eat again.

Actually you can be fat and suffering from malnutrition at the same time.
I starved myself fat and sick on 1200 low fat, high fibre calories a day for decades. Had an active job and went to the gym daily.
Dad was diabetic at age 34. In the early 60s when not common. Straight to insulin and I use to give him shots in his hard arm.
Like Dad, starting in childhood, if I ate an apple on a empty stomach I would get the hunger shakes in half an hour.
Also ate every 2 hours in a failed attempt to stop the hunger shakes.
When I went low carb 14 years ago several things happened.
When listening to the so called experts, I could eat 8 cups of salad with a carefully measured tablespoon of low fat salad dressing. I would be stuffed and starving at the same time.
I was at a barbecue I was eating a plate of all allowable low carb foods. All delicious. But suddenly, before finishing the plate, I was full. Not stuffed. But full. I knew I couldn't eat another bite. Weird feeling.
Also, I always took multivitamins. Had to stop about 4 months in because they started to make me ill. I think I was getting too much of some nutrients.
Now I can get busy and forget to eat. I have not had the hunger shakes in 14 years.

Yes, it's all true. My only problem is my body needs electrolytes and I don't know what to take. I've tried electrolyte powders, not sweet of course and even Himalayan salt and potassium and magnesium...but I can't find the proper amounts to make my body work properly. It's absolutely not hunger I feel, it's more like depletion of essential minerals for my heart and muscles to be able to work the way I need them to work, to be able to have power to sustain the energy during the prolong fast. By prolong fast I mean 3 days

I would say I need chocolate. It's especially dangerous this time of year when I can buy the German soft ginger bread in Lidl. I am working hard to get it out of my head. I am in Ketosis and loosing weight. Off sugar and carbs for a while and still craving it sometimes. 😠

I find myself wanting to snack when I'm not hungry but I don't it. Not because it comes naturally not do so but because it's a mental challenge..

I worry that I'm not eating enough.... I've been IF a ND carnivore/ very low carb to lose eeight.. But I worry that I might not be eating enough. I find I get full faster than I used to.

I can't get past a week on keto before I have a craving for ice cream ecstasy. I'm an ice cream addict.

But remain a big issue, in modern life time is contingent so if you don't eat in a certain moment, the other moment when you can eat can be to distant.
Plus even here isn't easy obtain quality fat, when you have issue with dairy, and the meat at the supermarket usually have only 20% of fat.

Sorry too say but intermittent fasting is so difficult for me. I can only eat 450 gr of meat with loads of fat otherwise I gain weight instead of loosing. When I wake up I am so hungry till the afternoon it kills me

I can be making ketones but until I’m burning them
Forget it
I’m hoooongry

OMAD & portioning is a choice. Would love to eat more.
Too old, small & sedentary tho.
