Will SALTWATER Fish eat a FRESHWATER Fish?? (Fishing Experiment)

Fishing with freshwater fish as bait in the OCEAN for whatever bites off the beach in Florida! Would saltwater fish eat a freshwater fish? What kind of fish would be around a beach like this?? There's been a change in the water clarity recently..will that bring in some new kinds of fish?? Will I finally catch one of the fish I'm after? Will something BIG bite one of our baits? I did not expect for this to happen..

Again, I want to thank each and every one of you for the support! At the time of this upload we just passed 552,000 I'm having so much fun making these videos, lets keep this rolling!

What's your favorite fish to catch?? 🤔🎣

I’ve used bluegill in brackish water and caught snook & redfish before. Down south it’s pretty common for certain salt species to completely acclimate to fresh water (snook, tarpon, redfish, black drum)

Absolutely Yes! I have used bluegill many times in the Gulf of Mexico and the grouper and snapper love them. Never used live 'gills, always frozen.

Awesome video bro! It’d be sick for this to be a series, trying all different kinds of fresh water baits in saltwater

Man, I was hoping you would throw a whole live bluegill out and see what eats it, or see if something eats it before it croaks.

9:38 “wonder if they can see any fish from up there”. That’s the most fisherman thing to possibly say!

As a part two to this scientific challenge, you gotta go fishing in some fresh body of water using salt water fish as bait! That’d be really cool to see if the experiment works both ways or not!!

now im okay with using bluegill as live bait but dont throw it in salt water it makes it 1000x times more painful for it

I know exactly what your saying about people walk under your line. I had a lady on a horse walk under my line and i was curling up in my skin hoping she wouldnt get caught in it. Im so thankful you uploaded this video! I looked fishing with bluegill and nothing came up, thank you so much and you channel is amazing!

Learn to tie a hi/lo or Pompano rig. It keeps the bait(shrimp in this case) off the bottom where the crabs, snails, and catfish dwell. Crabs will just eat around a hook, while snails will bury the bait. Some color helps too, fish bites help in this department, or colorful floats.

Few days ago I tried bottom fishing the salt water with cut blue gill and yellow perch and the fish were nuts for it. Even put some in the crab pot. Was like a magnet for dungeness

I fish this same spot almost every week. Been waiting to run into you. Just to let you know, pompano keepers are hard to get right now in the surf because it’s so hot. Spring and fall are when the Pompano run through.

As a suggestion I suggest once you get your foot healed walk out a little further so you can to get it a little deeper out. And many of the people that you run across that are upset with you fishing on the beach are much like people that get upset when you fishing around their dock! Attitude for no reason other than they just like to look at the water and not partake in the water! Keep having fun it's your right to be there fishing!

I'm in Missouri & i've used shrimp, squid & octopus to catch catfish, bluegill, freshwater drum & gar so I dont know why it didi'nt work. Try jello chicken breasts or night crawlers.
Great idea & video also!!
