Yup, hair slivers happen. Hairdressers get them in their fingers or under their nails.
Aways wear shoes or sneakers when going to the salon.

My mom had a beauty shop. Always walked through barefoot. Something in my foot. My mom pulled out long hair. Didn't surprise her. Lol

I'm a hairstylist, and the worst hair sliver I've ever had was this long hair that got stuck in my heel on a day I wore slip-on mules to work. It took me over an hour with a pair of tweezers and a flashlight to get that fucker out. Couldn't leave it in because it hurt to walk on it! 😅

I’ve had a few of those. The hair gets trapped in a blister and somehow finds an old capillary path in the outer (dead) skin layer. There are millions of capillaries (micro blood vessels) in your skin, and they get shed right along with the rest of the dead cells.

Yes that’s a ingrown hair but someone else’s hair, I do hair for a living since 1981 and I have had many many that’s why I always wear closed toed shoes and change n shower when I get home! It’s a scary life I am so glad they got it out with one gentle pull!!

Yeah! My mom was a beautician and this was the one thing she hated. She kept a bottle of baby powder and after cutting hair would always use the long bristled brush with the powder in it to brush off her arms & any exposed skin to remove any she couldn't see. The shop was at the house & I once got one on my arm. Pulled it out just like this one. It's mind boggling that with the body's movements the hair works its way in like that.

I used to always get rottweiler hair stuck in my feet, it's like a sliver and instant relief when it's out.

I’m so glad this popped up. I’ve been trying to get my husband to believe that I got a hair stuck in my foot since we got married. He said no way. I said yes, while I was shocked too when I pulled the hair out of my foot, expecting a wire or long splinter, it was indeed my ex’s very thick healthy hair. Now I can show him this. ❤

Don't you mean "Hair in FOOT"? It took me a minute to figure out what a FOOR is. LOL

I don’t know how you could wait for it to get that far into your skin without it driving you bananas! Same if it was an ingrown… but I’m a picker so a little more vigilant to notice stuff like this at the onset.

As a hairdresser I used to get these all the time! Different parts of my body too...

as a former hairdresser this was something that could happen, we would wear socks or stockings to try to prevent hair in our feet; it’s like splinters! i worked at a high end salon in Manassas Mall in northern VA with 20 stylists - hair everywhere! when i went home i would wash & check my feet to make sure i didn’t have hair splinters or anything between my toes. i was lucky, it never happened to me but a couple of my coworkers had it happen. it was rare & something i wouldn’t have even thought about. i’m really glad they warned me when i started there. i really enjoyed working there, although its hard on your body. standing on marble floors 40-60 hours/week, nonstop, but i was young, i was at the mall making people pretty 😅 sry u rambled lol
… point is DON’T get a hair splinter!! 😂
