"Cute" would definitely not be the word I would use to describe it. I would definitely try to get rid of it.

Dr. Lee is an earth angel. As we are mostly horrified, she brings ease to even the most frightening examples of skin anomalies.

As a chronic cuticle picker(and picker in general), I would not have a finger left on my hand if that was there.

I'd be picking on it non stop. I'd have to get rid of it as soon as possible

Omg i have a similar one on my toe and have never seen someone have the same as me!

For those that say "cut it off" or "I would just cut it off"
They are attached to bloid vessels, so it will continuously grow back. Needs to be surgically removed.

I would DEFINITELY cut it off if it was on my nail 💅 ✂️

@DrPimplePopper My husband has nail pterygium on his left ring finger. His is the result of an early childhood accident in which he stuck his finger into a cassette player. One of his brothers pressed rewind/fast forward, twisting his finger. After it healed, the doctor offered to remove the extra skin, but his parents declined for some reason. I think they thought he had been through enough, and they could have it performed later if they decided to do so.

You’re spot on about how it distorts the nail. I've tried to help him by trimming the fingernail very short, hoping it would grow back in correctly, but it never worked. Still, the nail contains grooves and always grows back rigid and asymmetric. Luckily, the trauma didn’t damage his skin as severely. I was just wondering what options are available for correcting nail pterygium. Does it require surgery? Thank you, Dr. Lee! ❤
