You are so very right. I encouraged one of my boys to try Dostoyevski, and he took to him like a duck to water. I am working on his brother now. I picked up a copy of Crime and Punishment two days ago. Today, by pure chance, I saw your excellent video. I described these as coincidences, but the truth is, I do not believe in coincidences. Thanks.

Read this book years ago in a hot summer. It was haunting, a book that sucks your insides out so you lose your own sense of self.
Felt completely dislocated for a time afterwards. Am incredible novel.

What people miss about Dostoevsky is his love of humanity in a godless world. What it means to be good and to forgive for no other reason than it is the right path.

I already loved Dostojevsky´s "The Gambler", so thanks for the recommendation.

It seems like this movement is not just self improvement. But much more deeper than that. Exposing the modern illusions and terror. It as if most of us has been blinded all along by the dark culture. Finding everyone supporting feminism, woke culture, and getting ourselves into addictions.

I read his masterpiece, and in it I saw him describe the philosophy of crime, and the crime in some philosophy. Hear the words of the divine master who straightens our misguided thoughts. Seek the truth, learn the truth, be the truth.

150+ years ago. The novel was first published in a journal in 1866 and editor of that journal, while negotiating publication in 1865, said that it is distinctly contemporary so much so that he suggested naming the novel "1865". It was contemporary then but it keeps being true even though the decorations changed. The themes in the novel are eternal as long as concious humans exist.

Thank you for your work! The depth and versatility of the soul is what was lost when simplicity came to human minds. And simplicity is worse than theft. Many people want simple answers... but they don’t exist and won’t exist. Either you will have to learn to think or you will die without even starting to live...

Love these videos. Some of the best and most stylish advice videos on the internet. The style of this channel really sets it apart from pretty much every other advice channel.

Remain honourable.

I agree. It was the first book I was actually sweating while reading, and I couldn't put it down! You can't imagine how many Raskolnikovs I've met in my life. And this novel has been indispensable at reminding me to be humble and the value of law and conscience.

I’ve finished notes from the underground and the idiot. What an amazing author. A little Tolstoy next and then back to Dostoevsky for Brothers Karamazof.

It reminds me of the show 'Vikings'. A show full of brutality, wisdom, family, responsibility, betrayal, living for the gods and having no fear of death. I've watched it 7 times now and learned the true meaning of life because of it. After watching Vikings I'm constantly listening to ancient music and it's more powerful than the modern bullshit we have now.
