I lost my mom 8 years ago, I was 26 and had just gave birth to my first and only child 3 weeks before. It was (and still is) the hardest event of my life.
Since I heard this song, I feel better. It's like Ed put words on the emptiness I feel since her passing. I want to learn the guitar to be able to go and play/sing it on her grave. 🥀

This song reminds me so much of my Grandad. One of the biggest inspirations in my life, a man who taught me to be a gentleman. My wife got pregnant with my first born about 2 months after he passed and it was an honor to name him after him. He was the only person who never judged me for decisions in my life but when I first heard "I'd tell you that I'm scared of turning out a failure" it really got to me

That's exactly the person I would admit this to and the one person who would respond with exactly what I needed to hear.
