Ed Sheeran - Visiting Hours

Thank you Ed Sheeran for this song. I had to upload here since it wasn't released yet, and I jad to send to more people. Such an amazing song.

I lost my mom 4 years ago for cancer, I'm now pregnant with my first baby. And this song is just everything I wanted to say. Thank you, thank you.

I think once Ed Sheeran starts crying, you are legally required to do the same

As if supermarket flowers, affire love, autumn leaves, etc hasn't been enough. This song will tear up now.

I thought Supermarket Flower was the most painful song I've heard.. Not until I hear Ed sing a song for Michael 🥺😢

Ed's crying. I'm crying. We're all crying. That must have been incredibly hard for him.

Was in attendance and the emotion was felt by all in the arena. Here’s hoping he’ll release it.

I wish that heaven
Had visiting hours
So I could just show up
Then bring the news
That she’s getting older
And I wish that you met her
The things that she’ll learn from me
I got them all from you

And we just talk a while
And we’ll put all the world to rights
The little ones will grow and I’ll still drink you’re favourite wine

But soon they’re going to close
But I’ll see you another day
So much has changed
Since you’ve been away

I wish that heaven
Had visiting hours
So I could just swing by
And ask your advice
What would you do in my situation
I haven’t a clue how I’d even raise them
What would you do
Cos you always do what’s right

And we just talk a while
Until my worries disappear
I tell you that I’m scared of turning out a failure

You’d say remember that the answers in the love that we create
So much has changed
Since you’ve been away

(Instrumental)

I wish that heaven
Had visiting hours
And I would ask them
If I could take you home
But I know what they’d say
That it’s for the best
So I will live life the way you taught me
And make it on my own

And I will close the door then I will open up my heart
And everyone I love will know exactly who you are

Cos this is not goodbye
It’s just until we meet again
So much has changed
Since you’ve been away

The only drawback with Ed is that you can't really be surprised when he comes with a new great song.

When Ed sheeran stopped for a second longer I didn’t know what was going on, and then when he sang with his shaky voice and teared up, my heart couldn’t HELP but melt.

Ed wrote and dedicated this song to his friend and mentor Michael Gudinski who unexpectedly died in March, a legendary Australian record label founder and music producer, Ed has always said he was like a father figure to him. He performed at Michael’s State funeral in Melbourne and afterward wrote this song. A beautiful song and tribute to his friend.

2:52 I just realized Ed said "Sorry" when he was overcome by his emotions and stopped singing for a second. 😭😭😭

I keep coming back to this everyday... I love Visiting Hours so much, Michael is surely proud of him. Ed looks so much younger now! I hope he keeps this haircut. The lyric "I'd tell you that I'm scared of turning out a failure" made me so sad... Ed has always been insecure and now that such a good friend of his is gone he's probably scared of the loss of a supporter. You're not a failure, Ed, you'll never be! You have millions of fans, your beautiful family, Cherry and now Lyra. Maybe another baby? "I haven't a clue on how'd I even raise _them_ " . Stay safe and strong, Ed! R.I.P. Michael 🕊️
