Ukraine War: How does China view the invasion?

China is a close ally of Russia and like Moscow is giving viewers a limited view of what's happening in Ukraine.

Tom Cheshire takes a look at what Chinese citizens are watching and asks what they think about the invasion.

I'm a Chinese living in the west, I can read both news from West and East, and here is a summary:

Chinese citizens feel bad for the Ukraine&Russian citizens that are involved in the war, but they support the Russians more because of the past history of the "East VS West".
China uses the world "conflict" and doesn't use "invasion" to stay neutral.
Chinese citizens can discuss it online or offline, there is no censorship to it, in fact it's been taking up the most searched/discussed topic on Weibo(Chinese twitter) for a while now.
There is no protest or anything because many Chinese see what Russians are doing is a part of "self-defense" to stop the NATO from pushing far more to the East near Russian border.

Also, pay attention to 0:15 at Canadian embassy, the flag on the right was sprayed painted "F**K NATO" in red and thus covered up by the tape on the bottom.

i mean to be fair all i can find it mostly positive pro ukraine news on youtube, even after searching for "russians helping ukraines with food" i cant find what they are seeing idk man i cant blame anyone for the news they are seeing. my point is it seems very difficult to gain the views of others in this invasion.
