Actually no, you’re not gonna die just cuz you can’t do that. It took me two months before I could do that, it’s actually about how balanced you are and if you lean forward it’s easier because you are putting all your weight in front of you. :)

The risk of death thing is based off a study done about how knowing how to move safely when you fall and being able to get back up or catch yourself would reduce injuries when you are older.

If you can't do that, you have a higher risk of still not being able to do that 😂

i feel like as an asian, this is easy.... we do this all the time to sit on the floor and then get up. so are we just gonna live forever or does that not apply to us?

I won’t lie, that was one of the easiest one of these “challenges” I’ve ever done 😂

The difficulty of this exercise has mostly to with your bodys anatomy. If you've got longer femurs (the bones in your thighs). You'll be feeling like this is impossible. Meanwhile, others with shorter femurs, can do this movement with ease. And question why anyone would struggle with it in the first place.

Seriously? See even the most fit people have struggles with that! I love your reaction!! “What?”😂

It depends on how flexible you are and your body composition.
...yes I can do it...but I've got disc issues and fibro, all kinds of stuff...so I believe it comes down to if you're used to flexibility, muscle memory, balance and just the way you're built

As far as i understood, this is about having a good balance and a good muscle tension. Which both are important to make sure you don't stumble, fall, and break your hip (which is pretty common for elderly people). So it is less about organ function, it is more about preventing accidents. :)

That’s the way I usually stand up when I sat on the floor - thought everyone was doing it like that 😂

Over ten ago I had heard about getting off the floor, but it was a warning for older people over 50 with a weigh condition. Now they way you just did it. You made it more difficult to get up as you did. You muscled your way up with your feet placed in a narrow base foundation. Now as a dancer in ballet, modern, and jazz dance I have performed many variations of going down to the floor and returning back up. I would not come up straight up, but spiral back up. There’s nothing that says there’s only one way you can get up off the floor.
