Learn 'Ten Commandments' in 4 minutes, Remember FOREVER

Here's a quick and easy way to learn and remember the 10 commandments using some simple hand actions. These are a compilation of hand actions taken from a number of different sources put together in my own presentation for the Junior Soldiers at Camberwell Salvation Army.

The 10 commandments were given to Moses by God and can be found in the old testament of the Bible in Genesis 20 and again in Deuteronomy 5. The first 4 talk about how we treat God and the other 6 are about how we treat others.

These rules about how to live will certainly help us to live happy and fulfilled lives however merely following these rules will not get anyone to heaven. "We are justified by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ....." not by anything we do. Romans 3:23-24 says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."

I just learned these from my Rector at Church of the Apostles, Anglican in the US, and couldn't remember the hand gestures for Commandment 9, so very glad to find this, and delighted that it's from The Salvation Army in Camberwell! I grew up in the Army and both my sisters are retired officers, as were my parents in Heaven!

These hand gestures are really helpful! Thank you! I was raised Catholic but was born again when I was 49. The 10 Commandments were always difficult for me growing up and now I know why...the Catholic version is different. The Catholics removed #2 about not bowing down to idols (because they do) and split up #10 to make it into 2 commandments...#9-Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife and #10-Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods.
