you have to leave the hair for 5 minutes and make sure the hair you’re using has the root attached to it also (little bulb shaped thing on the end of your hair, usually black or white) or else the hair will just float

i forgot to add this so here:
*low porosity hair* - the hair floats at the surface of the water, this means your hair takes a LONG time to dry/soak up product. your hair may stay greasy after applying products. watery oils are best because they easily penetrate the hair follicles!

*medium porosity hair* - your hair sinks but stays in the middle of the cup. this is the rarest/best porosity and it means that your hair doesn’t take too long to dry and usually stays well moisturised after putting on product. oils that are a little thick are best for your hair!!

*high porosity hair* - your hair sinks COMPLETELY to the bottom of the cup. your hair is VERY quick to dry/soak up products so your hair might be dryer than usual. thicker oils are best for your hair because they take longer to penetrate the hair follicle so it sits longer in your hair.
