Yes I use the automatic transcription, download it as .srt file, and use VLC to burn them on the video itself. The automatic transcription is also much cheaper, and i do take a few minutes to review them.

What if I decide to choose the option of 'uploading files from the computer', when I upload it to YouTube will my viewers still have the option of turning on/off the captions, or is it forever embedded into the video?

So this is something (else) which I don't understand from YouTube... The subtitle editing suite for Community Contributions is really useful. So how come as a content creator or YouTube manager I cannot access the same feature to apply subtitles to a video (without wanting to or needing to turn on Community Contributions)?
