This happened to me and I was so devastated that I lost ALL MOTIVATION. I didn't get an answer seemed like for half a month and they denied reactivating my store. They didn't even tell me why, I literally hate them over this but I know I can make sales with my ideas.

doesn't work. I have appealed 7 times. there is no reason at all. they dont respond to emails or even tell me when they will send me my money.

But for many sellers, Etsy will still hold that "no reason at all" as a strike counted against the person's account. I keep seeing people's videos about getting suspended and then being told they're "repeatedly" violating rules that they didn't even touch. 😐

That happened to me and it took them about a month to get back to me. I deleted it right after. Lost interest in that platform

This happened to me the minute I tried to publish my first product a couple years ago. For no reason at all it seemed. They kept denying my requests for answers and to open my shop back up. I tried so many times and was so depressed after this. My business still hasn’t recovered, the pandemic and Amazon and many other factors went against me, and now I’m financially ruined. Fun! Etsy is so fantastic.

Ok, but even if you file an appeal 2 min later they send you an email to f..k off. So 80% new shops get suspended at the moment this is crazy, because you cant eve try again since they blacklisted you...

This exact thing happened to me. Thank you for the advice. It took a few weeks of blowing up their twitter and emails etc but my permanent suspension for no reason just magically disappeared.

Yes I agree. I’ve opened three shops in two weeks (I am not a scammer LOL) and every one was suspended and then was reopened once I let them know what was up. 👍

I've been suspended for two months. Suspension happened three minutes after I opened my shop. I keep getting told that they "can't disclose" the reason for the suspension.

This has absolutely devastated me. I have spent money creating stock for Christmas and they suspended me permanently without reason right as I needed to get the stuff on sale. I appealed and asked how am I supposed to appeal something I wasn't given ANY information about? They responded and said they won't reinstate the account, and they can't tell me the reason and there will be no further response on the matter. Its brutal and its absolutely ridiculous.

Suspension of new Etsy shops in India is normal. Etsy verifies the new shops and opens the shop.
So it can also happen because you sell from a particular country (just some policy they have)

Happened to me this week after becoming active after a hiatus! Now a waiting game.

My 2nd shop opened 7/1/13....and was deactivated the same day, so this has been a "bug" for ten years.
Back then, I had to provide photos of my workspace (hahaha) and me making what I was making at the time (I have pivoted, a bit...a couple times...) before they lifted the ban.
And they don't apologize, so figure it's those pesky brainless bots and move on.
I have come to see the bug as a blessing, as the obvious resellers don't seem to be infested (may their navels be infested by the fleas of 1000 camels).

This happened to me, and when I filed an appeal, they rejected me and said my account did not "qualify for reinstatement.", and they were "unable to reconsider this decision.". I never even got past the naming my shop part, and they banned me.

I think it’s one of their ways of determining who is willing to put in the additional work. If you aren’t willing have some patience then you aren’t going to make it with Etsy
