6 Simple & Solid reasons why somebody should buy a Porsche Boxster 986. I will show you why these cars are so good, and why they will increase in prices so potentially an investment. One of my Official Porsche videos.

Porsche 911 992 Launch Control Carrera 4s - the 992 launch control feature can catapult the new Porsche 911 from 0-62 in just 3.6 seconds. Pretty incredible. Both the S & 4s are widebody cars, this car was kindly loaned to me by Porsche Centre Teeside. I can’t wait to try the 992 GT3 launch control and 992 Turbo launch control.

I have said it before and i'll say it again, lovely lovely little car for the money. The Porsche Boxster 986 represents amazing value for money right now. Would love to win this car.

Bought a 1999 Porsche Boxster 2.5 yesterday. Not particularly fast but still quick enough. Guess 0-60 is mid 6 seconds. However virtually everything else is awesome. Super light, nice sounding engine, quick steering, easy to shift, great for touring back roads. I am in the auto industry and particularly like 1992-2005 sports cars. I think I bought a winner!

For a 20 year old car they still stand the test of time even now. Stunning looking.

I’ve had my 986 S for 4 years now, I could never sell it. A proper drivers car, well balanced, fast enough to enjoy in the real world. It has very few drivers aids unlike modern cars which I like, not to mention 6 cylinders right behind you making a beautiful soundtrack. Visually I love the simple / elegant look, modern cars are just too fussy ie have too many lines and creases to my eyes. Can’t recommend them enough!!!

My first Porsche is a 1998 986 Boxster. I have owned it 20 years and it still puts a smile on my face. I did modify it by dropping a 3.4 liter 996 engine into it, but the handling in the canyons is what got me to buy it 20 years ago. I love the AeroKit II you have on your Boxster. Basically GT3 front end and side skirts. I have mentioned this before... Looks great with 18s, but looks really great with those 19 inch lobster claw wheels. Or any other 19 inch wheel porsche makes. The 987's have great oem 19 inch wheels that will fit your 986. If you were going to keep it I would recommend investing in 19 inch wheels for it!

Sold my mint 2008 996 Carrera with sunroof 4 years ago because of bad back and still crying! Have never had a machine with such utter precise steering, gear-change and brakes. Perfection on wheels.

I love my "first run" 986 more and more each day. A pleasure to work on and the drive is so pleasing you don't want to arrive. I strongly urge anyone considering one of these cars to jump on board as you wont regret it.

You sure do know how to make me feel good for owning one of these boys! It's a beautiful car, inside and out. Any criticism towards its mechanical practicality is subjective to how their owners treated the car (highway/city driving). With the look almost "stolen" from the 550 Spyder, the Boxster retains a innocent yet passive-aggressive look over the years. It's main body line from the front head light to the tail light form a line that reflects the horizon above, and the ground below. Showing how Porsche calculated it's design, as well as giving it unique features. Cheers mate

My first Porsche was a 968, purchased for about C$13, 000 in 2008. That same car today is worth about twice that.

On to my second P-car now — bought a 996 last week.

I would’ve considered a 986, but there isn’t enough leg room in it for me. I’m 6’2”. The 996 is much roomier.

All Porsches are great, but the Boxster/Cayman/Carrera are in another league from the front-engined cars. No other car feels like this to drive. You can’t understand until you try it.

I still remember the first time I saw a 986 back on the 90s, Instant crush.
Then I bought mine 4 years ago.
Even watching It parked makes me smile.

I recently bought a 1999 Porsche 986 boxster with 96, 000 miles. I absolutely love it. I budgeted money for it because I had to get a new clutch, rear main seal and oil separator. I have a 996 short throw shifter with a full fabspeed exhaust. Beautiful car and amazing to drive. Perfect entry level Porsche.

Like your videos Planning on buying a Cayman, 2.7 or 2.9. I already have a convertible, a 2002 BMW Z3 that I absolutely love, so that is the main reason for a Cayman rather than a Boxster. Your videos are very helpful for making informed decisions on buying and owning. Thanks again. And yes I subscribed. Cheers.

My first Porsche Boxster was a 1999 2.5 tiptronic. I still have it. I look and take note of what I could buy and think to myself ‘Why?’ I’ve just today been for a thrash over The Trough of Bowland and my little 2.5 is equally as good as others. By the way, I’ll be 75 next month, my bearings are just fine as are the ones in the Boxster.

Hi. Bought one of these when they came out, my first Porsche. 2.5l. Silver with red interior and hard top. Then a 3.2 S in seal grey, again with hard top. Then in 2007 bought a silver 987. Loved it but wasn’t the same. Then, in 2012 I bought a yellow 986 with only 14k miles on totally pristine. Also, was lucky enough to buy a ‘2nd’ Boxster and so bought a red 987, but after a while I sold that and chose to keep the 986 as it meant more to me. I’ve still got it, it’s a 2003 model (53) and I also managed to buy a yellow hard top which was really hard to find. Now has 17k miles on it. Love it. Totally factory spec, black leather interior. Had many other marques and much more ‘desirable’ cars but this is easily the prettiest and best value for money, smile per mile 2 seater car available. A special car for Porsche and it reminds me of being a 28 year old. It’s my time machine and the CD changer is full of retro music from the time I bought my first. Love it. Great vids by the way! Might join the club now.

I just picked up a 00 986 in pristine condition with 55k miles. And I mean pristine. One owner, California car so no rust. Clean title. Whoever owned before - bravo.
$15, 000.
I’ve seen others for as low as $6000 but settle on this and couldn’t be happier.
Took it from LA to San Diego last night, top down, middle of December. So much joy.
Great video!

Nice one. Had the 2.7, now have the 3.2S 04. Couldn’t agree more with comments. Spent bit of time looking for one with clutch, IMS and RMS replaced, for peace of mind. Would recommend ‘CustomCovers’ hood cover if need to keep outside.
