Followed these instructions exactly prior to removing rear calipers and it worked great. Was worried about doing the rear brakes due to reading about people having issues online with the electronic parking brake. You saved me a couple hundred bucks, thank you!!!! This works on 2019 cx9 for anyone reading.

This vid was very helpful.... I also made the mistake of removing the caliper before figuring out something was a miss. What saved me is I did my usual trick of using a long screwdriver to partially push the piston back in BEFORE I remove the old pads/caliper/disc.
Now one question I have is on the 3 start button pushes at the end. In video it was done twice, but for me I only had to do it once to have the desired effect. In fact, when I tried twice at first like in the vid it didn't work.... or maybe I didn't wait long enough between the triple taps. When I did a single 3x push I waited a while before doing anything else since I could hear the motors in the back running for quite a while....like 15-20 seconds.

Anyway.... the vid helped me finish the job, so thank you

Just wondering if you hold gas pedal & parking brake button AND press engine start/stop button 3x’s - ALL 3 at the same time? Or gas pedal & park brake, and THEN engine start/stop button 3x’s? Sorry, having trouble.

My calipers won't compress back in. The rear brakes were so far gone idk what to do

Do u do maintenance mode for front break pads?

instead of listening carefully ... make sure parking brake amber indicator light with ! illuminates right side of cluster

I followed the steps and it seems that the electronic parking brake is stuck in the on mode - the piston is pressed all the way out and it's not allowing me to compress it back in. Any advice on how to deactivate it so I can compress the piston?
