First off, thanks for posting. Second, Not sure if this was mentioned in comments, but it’s important to not press the start button (3 times) too fast. Took me several tries before I figured that out.

This video saved my a$$ trying to work on a CX-5. Thank you for sharing the knowledge! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Loved the video format - short, simple, and straight to the point; none of the extra BS.

Perfect. Thanks for the quick steps. This made the rear job so easy. The pistons even slide back with little pressure. 2018 GT 3

Excellent detail, your instructions including "holding down" on the pb lever while pressing the start button three times was the key for me. Thanks for being so detailed.

Great post 👍🏽👍🏽A video put together well, clear & concise . When you go to part supplies stores the employees dont know about these new technologies. I rented a caliper piston compression tool unnecessarily.

Once point of clarification I want to emphasize, because the demonstrator glides over it rather quickly . . .

Make sure your EPB is OFF before you begin this procedure.

(Foot off pedals) Press start twice, foot on brake as you release the EPB.
Now you can begin the process of holding down the accelerator and EPB lever as you press start 3 times at moderate pace.

If the EPB is engage when you try this procedure, it won't work, nothing happens.

Tried every method on every single video and did not work. Took it to Mazda for a diagnostic and it was a bad motor at the rear caliper. It was code P064A and P0471 related to the same issue. Mazda charged like $800 to fix it.

I just finished the install of new rear brake pads on my 2017 Mazda CX-5. I put it in service mode when I started, but when I finished, I couldn't get it out of the service mode. I followed the steps exactly. The car turns on and I can drive it just fine. Brakes work and no longer squeak. What am I missing? Did I install something incorrectly and that's why it's stuck in service mode?
