Thanks for covering this. This is the fantastic content that I'm looking for. I just recently learned of Kittl. I saw a quick tutorial showing the distort effect and lost my mind. 😂 I was like, "Yes!!!!" I see this effect all the time but couldn't figure out how or where to achieve it. It's so popular with the retro fonts. I jumped and grabbed a subscription just to get it. Now I'm trying to learn more of its features. I got SO excited when you showed the templates which I haven't tried yet. I can't wait to go explore them now! Please do some Kittl tutorials. I'm not a designer. I teach myself a lot but sometimes the experts show you things and use terminology that opens up a whole new world. For example, also just learned about Creative Fabrica Spark. Now I'm learning how to write prompts. To designers it's second nature. To the uninitiated it's learning a new language! 😂 Thank you again for great content!

I'm a Canva Pro fan. Kittle looks good but - maybe because of the limited templates - I can always spot a Kittl design. They have a certain look. For me that's not a good thing.

Yeah good honest review Shimmy of both, Kittl I personally think needs lots more templates before I would move over but its much newer so more time will hopefully equal lots more added in the future, it does look cool with what you can do with text though. I would personally make it cheaper than canva to get more people to move over.

Never commented on comparison videos of platforms and I have viewed a lot!!!! Canvas copyright and licensing issues (even for paid accts) has set up POD sellers in jeopardy. They have mislead their paying customers with all their beat around the bush answers concerning this legal issue for sellers. I personally can no longer trust Canva and will be closing my Acct. Example: After being reamed on various platforms. They tell customers that you can only use the templates as a reference. They should not be used for selling even if the template is manipulated. You can’t trust a company that cannot clearly state the usage of graphics, templates, etc. people can actually get sued. Again paying customers should NOT have to worry about a platform that they are paying for. I use to Love Canva and have unfortunately recommended it to colleagues but will no longer be doing that moving forward. What is the point of having a lot more graphics (even if you change the color-its still a No-No) if it’s not clear an artist will turn around and sue you!!

Pretty sure Kittl's price changed since you filmed this and it's now $10/ yearly for Pro. Not $14. They also do have a mockup too which is pretty sweet! Just launched, curious what you'll think of it.

Hi Shimmy. This was a fun video. I'm a Canva Pro user, and apart from their confusing licensing conditions, I cant imagine life without it. Though I haven't used Kittl yet, the one thing that I hear from people that use both tools religiously, is that Kittl is far better calibrated towards POD specificity, whereas Canva has limited POD functionality, and tends to be best used when combined with other design tools . Have you made any winning designs purely from Canva? If so, any insights or suggestions? But to your boxing analogy, I think Kittl is like "the boxing of POD" whereas Canva is more like "the Mixed Martial Arts of POD." If the comparison is which is most appropriate for the purity of print on demand as a craft, then I think Kittl wins and will continue to win, as they are calibrating the tool for POD quality and specialization. But if POD is part of a larger entrepreneurial picture, I put my money on Canva as the better investment. Just like MMA encompasses boxing as an element intended to be "mixed" with other elemental skill sets to achieve a winning result; Canva encompasses POD as a potential element of a comprehensive business game that could involve a team, a website, social media marketing, , a youtube channel etc, that can be "mixed" towards an entrepreneurial vision. But if anyone can get access to both tools, and harness both specialization and versatility, then that would be the perfect two hit combo to be a total POD NINJA⚔⚔⚔. Cheers mate... For people in countries with a heavy exchange rate (we're at R18 to the $1 right now in South Africa) Canva being that much less makes a huge difference, per month being the important thing as well. Even with the Kittl price drop, as paying yearly in one lump sum is very costly when you convert it to Rands, for example.

We need Kittl & Canva to get married so we can have the best of both worlds! Just a side note, the Canva app needs a button or something to force the keyboard to show up. Using it on my ipad is tricky as I have to keep trying to hit everything just to get the keyboard to make an appearance.
