Why Indians don’t care if Indian-origin Kamala Harris won or lost?

Why didn’t Indians feel strongly about Kamala Harris, an Indian-origin leader, losing the U.S. election? And what does this say about India’s changing attitude towards Indian-origin leaders abroad? Let’s dive deeper.

When Kamala Harris, who is half-Indian, ran for Vice President in the U.S., you might have expected a wave of excitement in India. After all, here was someone with Indian roots aiming for one of the most powerful positions in the world. Yet, there were no large prayers, no grand celebrations, and when she lost, there was barely a murmur of disappointment. It’s a similar story for leaders like Rishi Sunak in the U.K., or Antonio Costa in Portugal. Despite their Indian origins, most Indians have moved past the 'oh-look-one-of-us' feeling.

Were you living on another planet? When Rishi Sunak became the Prime Minister, the people from India went wild with joy. Rishi Dada, King of the Aryaputras, who rose to the top position in the land which once conquered India.

The reason why nobody cares about Kamala is because she's half black, she identifies as black, and she didn't woo the Hindu vote like Donald Trump did. No Indian claims her as their own, and certainly no Hindu does, because she has disavowed the Hindu religion she was born and raised in. Unlike Rishi who has consistently said he is a proud Hindu. It's all about identification. Why is this channel trying to put a very stretched spin on facts?

She and her party has been always against India in general so dont get the votes while Trump tend to be very pro India in his last tenure and in his tweets

More than being Indian origin, we support true Indian values, ironically Indian origin did not keep Indian values.

There was some interest, not excitement when Kamala became, VP, but soon Indians lost interest when they understood Kamala was just an American, she had no special love or interest in Indians, so,when she became Presidential candidate the Indians, whether of India or those settled in US had nothing to do with her.Trump at least seemed more interested in India than Kamala. Now what happens is to be seen, that is, how Trump re acts with India

Thats true. As Indians, we value trustworthiness over background or origin. We are pragmatic and learn from past experiences, so we no longer trust solely based on appearances. Instead, we seek proof of genuine intentions and commitment to the greater good, prioritizing national interest and peace over personal benefits. Mrs. Kamala harris never worked for her community and for the national interest so we dont trust her. 😅

She has nothing Indian about her. She grew up as black American. When a Tamil descendant doesn't know what a Dosa looks like- it means Kamala's parent completely cut off from the roots herself for the hardships that woman must have faced in inda.
- Though it is impossible
a) for a 1st gen immigrant to have never visited India throughout her life
b) There is a high chance that it was her grandmother who migrated not her mother.... Given the lack of touch kamala has with India or even what cuisine looks like. Her grandmother got to Jamaica and from there her father must have migrated to U.S. From Obama to Kamala...TRUMP is truly right about theur fake citizenship !

Fastest growing economy, this woman says, look at the slums of Bombay, Calcutta, Delhi, Madras, Child malnutrition, poverty, high unemployment, poor health service. This woman speaks absolute nonsense. Rich are getting richer poor are getting poorer.
