Vectors: Using Projections to Find Component Vectors

This video shows how projections can be used to find the magnitude of component vectors that make up a particular resultant vector. This is helpful, especially when the component vectors aren't along the traditional x and y axes.
Note that this solution could be much simpler by just drawing the two right-angle triangles from the projections, and jumping right to Fcos(theta) for each one. However, using this method and showing the substitution of the dot product, helps visualize what's happening when we project one vector onto another.
