Why don't Christians celebrate Passover? | Gay Jesus #shorts

First things first, this does NOT mean you should practices Passover, or Seder. Judaism is a closed practice and doing this would be appropriation, only participate when INVITED.

In the previous vids we were talking about how the Council of Nicea voted for making Easter a holiday, and I just wanted to throw out a friendly reminder that Jesus was very much Jewish.

All of it derived from different cultures around the world and other worship tools were added as the holiday traveled.

I grew up wondering about this. The Bible plus pastors say, strive to be like Jesus; but not. All at the same time. Like shouldn't we have a smidgen of a Hebrew or Jewish education to be more like him? Instead of the pagan-latin madness. I still have no clue what the heck a shabat is. Also, Christians constantly had to refer back to us Jews in order to figure out when Passover was that year. Since we use the Hebrew Calendar, which is different than the Gregorian calendar. As you stated, they wanted to separate from relying on Jewish practice, and that’s why they instituted a specific day for Easter. It also establishes Christianity as a very separate religion, and not an extension of a religion, as much as they try to portray it as such. Because, as stated, if it was an extension of the religion, a continuation with the fulfillment of prophecy, then all of the old holidays would still be celebrated. But they are not.

Easter is the holiday where Christians eat ham to celebrate a Jewish man who was taught that ham is an abomination before The Lord. I used to tell my friends and family to choose lamb over ham unless they want to make Jesus cry 🤣😂🤣😂

Because we as christians aren't meat to follow the first 5 books of the bible. There's actually a passage for it. That's why Jesus was sent so gentiles could be saved through him. Jesus was Hebrew and most Christians are not. He didn't come to destroy what the prophets had said before so he still followed those as he was supposed to.

I wondered this so much as a kid. Then as an adult, I was confused to learn Jewish people had problems with Messianic Jews (aka Christians) following Jewish practices. I understand WHY...but I also understand why these Christians would want to? Considering Jesus WAS Jewish, it just makes a lot of sense to me.

I know the teaching that "Christianity is the successor to Judaism" is SO problematic. But it's undeniable that Christianity has Judaic roots...Christ was "King of the Jews" after all.

Again. I understand that appropriating Jewish practices after our religion has promoted such heavy Anti-Semitism is not ok. But growing up, I just never understood why those practices stopped in the first place.
