Over the last 20 years, it has become the most seismically active area in the Western states, with magnitude 7 or greater events occurring around the (in)famous San Andreas fault. I am amazed how the woman introducing the scientist ended nearly all sentences with her voice rising upwards which makes her sound like a child or a weak person scared of irritating someone so she uses this irritating talking style. Note the man who followed dropped his voice at the end of each sentence which is a 'strong' way to talk.
