I'm impressed with his internal calibration: "That was more than 4, more like close to 5."

SoCal native here. Felt it pretty good in Gardena and kinda freaked out. Still to this day not used to quakes.

Cool how the camera was stable but everything else shook. I was on my PC and thought it was the neighbors being annoying again

That was nothing compared to the Northridge earthquake I lived thru while I was in Glendale.

You know you’re in California when…..an earthquake that shakes the heck outta your house doesn’t even make you get up from the dining table!

California native here, living in Arizona. Haven't felt an earthquake in many years. Having lived through '71 Sylmar quake (which was also on February 9), and the Northridge quake in '94, this one seemed gentle by comparison. I hope it isn't a foreshock, though.

I definitely felt this one. I felt the shaking and noticed my pedestal fans were shaking. Seemed to last longer than most of the ones I remember.

I was born and raised in LA, i went thru 3 earthquakes. No big deal. Anything under 5.0 is just like shrug your shoulders.

That is nothing! I am pretty sure I’ve slept through stronger ones here in Alaska. But they scare me too, the big one we had here a few years ago, it was a 7.6 I believe, and it did some damage too. But total PTSD now. And I’m definitely not alone

Native Californians are calm during earthquakes and afterwards start estimating magnitude.

Lol…you can tell this is in California because they are so chill, even a bit excited about it being at least a 4.

Why would you have a camera running in your house?

Watching this - we are not prepared for the big one

You get used to them. However, when a big one hits, it still scares the hell out of you.
