Magnitude 4 earthquake rocks Southern California’s Inland Empire

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 rattled the Inland Empire early Sunday morning, shaking homes and businesses and waking residents across the region. (Oct. 6, 2024)

That’s so strange I’m near Ontario and woke up around that time but didn’t feel anything. Guess it woke me but was over. Thank you for sharing this information.

I lived most of my 70 years in and around San Bernardino and to me it would have been just another curiosity to guess the magnitude and how far away it was. I used to be pretty good at it. When i moved to the east coast I noticed that the windows were not constantly rattling. BTW ... I had never realize that the San Andreas fault skirted the north side of San Bernardine and created the Cajon pass. I also didn't know that lost lake is a fault lake on top of the fault.

I am very close to Ontario and it felt like a big boom on my house. I didn’t feel any shaking. It was just like something hit our house hard. We went to sleep right after we are used to this now.

I live in Las Vegas and I swore I felt something when I woke up to get a drink. Like a wave or a woosh, very slight, but I felt it.

When I was watching TV, I felt the ground shaking a little bit. I thought there was someone on our roof.😂

This one actually woke me up. It was like a hard push. Usually the quake starts a little slow and picks up.

A piece of ceramic art work fell from the shelf and broke into pieces in my house. There were three earth quakes in Inland Empire today.
