Since the Wright brothers took to the air in Kitty Hawk over a hundred years ago, our skies are filled with all manner of aircraft. With hundreds of thousands of aircraft in the skies at once it is not strange to find that we also have more aviation moments worth remembering. Combine that with cameras in our cellphones and you have a recipe for the capturing of crazy moments.

From the highest skydive of all time to the miracle of the Avro Arrow, let’s take a look at some of the craziest moments in aviation history.

15. Felix Baumgartner's record-breaking freefall

The world was left speechless by Felix Baumgartner's record-breaking freefall from the stratosphere. This fearless Austrian daredevil flew through the air in a stratospheric balloon in 2012, climbing ever-higher into the stars. He stood on the edge of his capsule as he attained the astounding altitude of 128,100 feet or 39,045 meters, ready to change the course of history.

Baumgartner leaped into the void, the curvature of the Earth stretching out before him and the emptiness of space calling. Time seemed to stop for a split second as he accelerated towards Earth at supersonic speeds, shattering the sound barrier. With the Earth rotating beneath him and the atmosphere becoming visible as he descended to lower altitudes, the video footage perfectly captures the sheer intensity of his descent.

Baumgartner's parachute finally opened, and after a triumphant descent that lasted four minutes and twenty seconds, he gracefully floated to the ground. In addition to pushing the envelope of human endurance, this amazing feat produced invaluable scientific information for upcoming space exploration. With his daring leap, Baumgartner redefined what was possible and made his mark on aviation history.

We just enjoyed the footage.

14. Yves Rossy flying alongside an Airliner

Next, be prepared to be astounded by Jetman Yves Rossy's exhilarating encounter with an Emirates Airbus A380, a spectacle that pushes the limits of what humans are capable of in the sky. Rossy, also known as the "Jetman," put on his specially made jet-powered wingsuit and took to the air in a breathtaking display of audacity and creativity.

Rossy joined the enormous A380 in midair as it soared through the skies while wearing a stylish carbon-fiber wingsuit that was fitted with jet engines. The captivating scene of Rossy deftly navigating alongside the enormous plane is captured on camera, showcasing the harmonious interaction between man and machine.

Rossy displays the true artistry of human flight against the background of the limitless sky. He performs breathtaking aerobatics with exact control, defying gravity with loops, spins, and dives. Viewers are kept on the edge of their seats by the incredible speed and grace of his flight.

This remarkable encounter shows how human ingenuity and aeronautical marvels can coexist. Who ever thought that one day a man would be able to match speed with a jet airliner in flight.

13. Harrison Ford Crash Lands on a Golf Course

In 2015 the world held its breath for a moment as Hollywood legend Harrison Ford unexpectedly found himself in a real-life aviation drama. Imagine this: A classic aircraft flying through the sky on a gorgeous day with the experienced pilot Ford at the controls. But then something unexpected occurred.

Ford's aircraft lost power as the engine sputtered, and controlled panic ensued. Ford expertly piloted his plane towards a nearby golf course in a split-second decision, narrowly avoiding disaster. The tense moments as the plane skimmed the fairways and flew just above the treetops are caught on camera. The dramatic and breathtaking landing was fueled by adrenaline.

Ford performed a textbook crash landing, expertly controlling his aircraft to lessen impact. He did this with steely nerves and the instincts of an experienced pilot. The legendary actor miraculously survived the incident, becoming a real-life hero in their midst, as the golfers on the course gasped in shock.

This terrifying incident demonstrated Ford's dexterity, and exceptional piloting abilities. Apparently, this was not his first plane crash either. Maybe people were like, “what’s that in the sky? Oh, it’s just Harrison Ford crashing his next plane.”

12. SpaceShipOne's first Successful Manned Spaceflight

No for a historic turning point in human space exploration as SpaceShipOne writes itself into history. This cutting-edge spacecraft launched into the atmosphere with aviation trailblazer Burt Rutan at the controls with the goal of breaking through the limits of our atmosphere. A crowd of onlookers held their collective breaths as SpaceShipOne launched on its first successful manned spaceflight on that fateful day in 2004.

So while Yves Rossi is getting credit for flying a wingsuit, there is another person flying along side of him, also in a wingsuit. MAYBE you should have mentioned this person's name? Looks like he was doing everything that Rossi was doing. Why does only Rossi get credit?
