For everyone saying the AC-130's flares looks like a cross or a phoenix, their wrong. The flares are supposed to resemble an angel. (henceforth the nickname, "Angel of Death") The flares are not for combat situations, (Like trying to deter a missile) they are actually only used if a soldier falls in battle. So that means inside of the AC-130 shown in the video, there might be (a) casket(s).

What people don't understand that the A-400m is used to transport fallen troops home most of the time and thoes flares are commonly called the wings of an angel it's a final salute from the air crew usually done just before final approach before landing

fun fact: American EW systems were based on american flares, but they did absolutely nothing to counter the russian flares, their missiles going for them always, because the process of production in russia was not standardized they all had different signatures so were 'impossible' to counter by their means.
