I'm a drummer who is trying to learn the guiutar. I am a very stubborn learner in regards to this instrument.

Good lesson. I see a pattern within a pattern with this. Many of the scale positions have common barred forms leaving you to think mainly about the few notes that are different as you move up the neck.

In the CAGED system- that first pattern you show is actually the G form not E... the second is the E and so on... you are off one pattern on all shapes. The hint is you can actually see the chord shape in the finger charts. Though that may be for the major pentatonics...?
