As an older beginner level player, I really appreciate your methods of teaching. So many amazing players and teachers on YT but your calm and patient instructions really make a difference to learners like myself 🙂

You are such a great teacher! I kind of understood this but you gave me a real "light bulb" moment. Explaining the odd man out to know the key is so helpful and then moving back 3 frets for the minor. Thanks so much for your lesson and explaining these together. Most "teaching" videos are explaining for 10 seconds and then 10 minutes watching a professional musician play something that would take me 5 years to learn LOL. Thanks Again!

❤️🎸 _Idk if you’ll see this comment, but wanted you to know this is the best guitar video on how to apply the minor pentatonic to guitar playing. I’m happy I found your channel. Compared to you, all other guitar teachers on YouTube are subpar._

I know most of this stuff, but I can always learn a little more. You are, indeed, the Renaissance woman of basic guitar instruction. Keep it up.

Thank you Lauren, I have always felt one can learn something from everyone and I have with you. Especially identifying what scale to use for any given song I may hear. 👍

Thanks for this pentatonic lesson Lauren. I didn't think I needed to watch another pentatonic tutorial, but I decided that I wanted to see what you had to say about it. I'm glad I did because the "odd man out" tidbit was a gem! It seems so obvious now....but I never thought about it that way. I'm glad that I stayed for the entire lesson!

Hey Lauren. My guitar teacher covered this as well. What brought this video was the fact I wanted to learn the RIFF for 'So What' by Pink. It was written in F# minor and as I saw the tab sheet, I realized with some thinking that it was just using the Penatonic scale for the riff -> and it is also wickedly fun to play. I never imagined how much Penatonic scales are used in pop music - I do now! You are the best.

Thank you very much for this lesson, it was the one I was looking for.
I feel much better if I understand the theory .
Without theory I’m always afraid to use wrong notes and everybody will here them besides of me, because I’m not so talented in hearing wrong notes.
And, Laura, you teach it very easy to understand, for me you are a very good teacher.

Hi Lauren, I've been playing guitar by ear for decades, and now finally getting around to learning music theory. THANK YOU for making it make sense, before now it's always felt too overwhelming.
