I did barbell preacher curls yesterday. They feel almost unbelieveably risky. No doubt the sketchiest feeling I've had of any lift, even compared to deadlifts and squats. Most if not all I could feel was a ton of tension on my tendons. If for whatever reason I get injured, whether slight ego-lifting which happens to everyone or a slip up with form or lack of recovery or undetectable minor injury building over time. Preacher curl gives you NO warning since your tendon feels like its exploding with tension at all times. It also doesn't make me sore what so ever, unlike incline curls which always do. I prob wont do them again. Maybe machine preacher curls some times since they don't put quite the same tension on ur tendon.

Great form and control.I wish i could hit the gym.Its'a place that makes u feel 10x better.I would do these but bring my wrist out a bit towards the end of each curl.
Zottman curls are extremely effective as well

If you're really afraid of doing preacher curls, you can just support your hand that does the curl with your free hand and do it slowly.

My tips are control the weight. Also make sure the seat is high enough so your arm is nice and flat on the pad. If the seat it too low you will be hyperextending due to leaning back to much and your arm will not be on the pad properly. This is a scary exercise. A friend tore his bicep recently and I saw someone else do it at the gym with a super light weight. Also, do not go heavy quickly. Build up the weight. The tendons need to be just as strong as the muscles. Stay safe.
