SLUG QUESTION ANSWERED: Water moves in order to dilute salts & slugs have incredibly porous bodies meaning water moves through their flesh very easily. By pouring salt on slugs you’re drawing so much water out of their bodies that they dehydrate and die. (salt has a similar effect on humans, just not to the same extent. It’s why we get thirsty after eating salty foods)

the salt on a slug thing is because they become quickly dehydrated and the salt destabilizes the mucus covering their skin.

I remember watching an Abbey's Kitchen video recently that talked about how the "sugar rush" is a myth. Her theory was that since most households deem sugar as a treat, then kids get a rush afterwards because of the excitement of having it. If people didn't treat it as a restricted food, then that rush wouldn't necessarily happen.

As someone with a penicillin allergy, it can be extremely frustrating that doctors never believe I'm allergic. When my daughter was born via c-section, the anesthesiologist was dead set on using penicillin with my spinal. As I'm being rolled into the ER, he's telling me he really doubts I'll have a reaction since most people who think they're allergic really aren't, but if I do have a reaction, I'm in the best place to have one. About 5 minutes into the c-section, I start vomiting, my blood pressure bottoms out, and he's pushing fluids like crazy to try to keep it up. He pushed so much fluid that my heart started struggling, so now they've got a cardiac specialist in there who ended up having to monitor me for days. And I couldn't hold my newborn for hours afterwards because I was so out of it and felt like crawling out of my own skin. It was a truly awful experience and 100% avoidable. A couple of years later I had strep throat and even though I told the doc at that very appointment that I am allergic to penicillin, what drug do you think she called in to the pharmacy?? Very, very frustrating!

I worked at a Hello Fresh warehouse for about a year, and I was SHOCKED when I looked at their "plant based protein ground" and saw how many carbs were in it. Sure, there was a decent amount of protein, but that little 10 ounce block had something like 50 or 60 carbs in it. That's a lot of carbs to add to a meal that probably already contains carbs!

I love how Dr. Mike doesn’t include a lot of medical jargon in his explanations. My 5 year old nephew loves watching his videos! 👏🏽

I wish the doctors I went to were as helpful and as knowledgeable as you. I rarely walk away from a doctors appointment feeling like I was listened to or helped in any kind of significant way.

I feel like the answer you gave to "how much money do you make?" Has a double meaning 😂
I mean, it could either your one pay check is enough for life or it either be that you're going to feed Bear for the lest of his life and get him all the toys anyways-

I mean, Bear is the king of cuteness I get your point 😂

As a former Wal-Mart employee, it hurt to hear you call their food "high quality" lol. I mean, it's not bottom quality, but high quality is over selling it a bit.

I know this video is over a year old, but I'm just now seeing it. I can't express how grateful I am to see a physician talk about white vs whole grains. Carbs are carbs! If you're a diabetic, especially type 1, keep this in mind!!

Salt hurts slugs and snails because it rapidly dehydrates them via osmosis; while eating too much salt could throw your system off a bit and dehydrate you, humans can just rehydrate 🤷🏻‍♀️

Shortly after I got ‘19 I could smell it when the infection set in and then right around when my partner got it and started quarantining along side it I could smell it on him. It was horrible! I can also normally smell when I am getting a cold, or when I need more water due to how bad my sweat smells, as well as if I’ve eaten to much of certain things.

I was severely allergic to cats as a child
Got a hypoallergenic cat, and spent one week per summer with a relative with a cat. Now I am comfortable saying I’m no longer allergic to cats, and given how my allergic reaction steadily dropped in severity I think I can accurately state that life with a hypoallergenic cat had a significant effect.
