As a kid I was always told to drink milk because calcium was important for bone health. But knowing WHY calcium is so important is fascinating.

Good calcium sources:
2 dried figs – 100mg
200g baked beans – 85mg
70g red kidney beans (canned) – 50mg
90g green or French beans – 50mg
95g green or white cabbage – 50mg
110g broccoli (steamed) – 50mg
40g watercress – 50mg
400g tinned tomatoes – 50mg
8 dried apricots – 50mg
1 large orange – 50mg
Eating a variety of fruit and vegetables is important for good health – but the ones highlighted above can also contribute towards your daily calcium total. Eat plenty nuts, green beans, cabbage, broccoli and canned tomatoes.

For years, my dad drank a gallon of milk a day. On Monday, he had knee replacement surgery. The surgeon said he had never seen such dense bones, and holes had to be pre-drilled for the pins because they weren't enough to penetrate the bone on their own.

I've always thought that the bones were pure solid like a rod, I never knew that zooming bones would show this amazing pattern!! Also never knew how calcium really affects the health of bones!

Well.. skeletons seem less scary now that I know they're just made of the crusty sponge from my humidifier.

Many studies showed dietary and supplemental calcium is not effective to increase bond density. The milk industry did a good job.

I have prescribed calcium + Vitamin D supplements for mild osteoporosis. I saw the difference in my nails the most, I have the strongest nails in the world now

this is why I use a nano-Hydroxyapatite toothpaste (not Fluoride). 'nano' because it's small enough to infiltrate the tooth enamel.

The unique pattern of the inside of a bone is called trabeculae, which is formed due to different kinds of stress, which stimulates thicker trabaculae. Therefore exercising improves bone strength since there is a lot of stress on the bone.

It’s not calcium alone but collagen and bone-related proteins that generate the biomineralization that forms bones.

For years physicians have promoted calcium intake for strong bones, when it’s animal proteins that do the job.

Your body does not need interspecies adult breastfeeding. It needs the correct calcium from plants.
