Although using a router gives a nice finished look especially for rounded hinges, I like Tommy's other method in another video when he uses what he called a "gauge block." It leaves less room for hinge placement error.

what is the measure from the top of the door to the first hinge & bottom of the door 2nd hinge.

IF you have a jig, to drill the door face, the side, and the jam for the strike plate.

Can you please show us how you would do the cut out of the hinges on the frame side while you cannot use the jig?

Simple enough but why not leave 1/4" or possibly more for an undercut? Airflow, but also if they decide to do carpet in the future it won't swing correctly. Ask me how I know 😂

I don’t quite follow Tommy on the height. He didn’t level it, in fact that one shim on the floor means it could be sitting wrong, yes?

I am curious as to why there are two hinges in the video, rather than three hinges? How is it determined how many hinges are needed?
