Tapcon+ vs. Wedge Anchor - 100% Better

Watch how our Tapcon+ heavy duty concrete anchors are stronger, faster and easier to install than wedge anchors.

Now show what happens when the Tapcon strips out in the hole as they do roughly 20% of the time.

Great video demonstrating why you should virtually never trust comparison videos put out by vendors.
1. You use a ratchet on the anchor and a gun on the screw.
2. You're using a short screw and even screwing it into the *hollow* section of a cinder block.
3. You're not demonstrating any holding capacity.

There was nothing of value in this video. I want to see how they handle pulling and shearing forces. The few extra seconds to install one over the other is pointless without the strength compared.

You do realize that you can use the nut to keep from smashing the threads from the hammer....

Gee, imagine....Tapcon thinks Tapcons are better!!! Film at 11!

But he uses a power tool on one and not the other. Make use a hand ratchet, or a nut driver by hand on the Tapcon. This video really puts the "con" in tapcon.

ditch the music; very difficult to hear; clearly a biased review

Music is so loud we can't hear anything.

I use Tapcon screws when the fastener is not visible (cheaper, faster, and easier) but I use wedge anchors where the hardware is visible, such as with outdoor signage or residential loft applications.

Tapcons strip out dont hold very well. Puttig aluminum deck railing on concrete patio so far only 1 post holding with tapcons decent. Will return the rest and replace with wedge anchors which was the 1st thought i should have gone with.a lot of people love em and go with them but each time i try em and follow recomended installation steps they fail to impress me. I dont care about the time it takes i just want a safe railing. Screws are for wood.

Wrong comparison. Have you ever heard of split bolt anchors?

Are tapcons as strong as wedge anchors? Say for a 500-800 pound gazebo?

He says "and if you need to reposition you can remove it and drive it right back in like a screw"
He doesn't mention that your tapcom will be nearly without threads on most of it and that you should use epoxy the 2nd time with a new screw and you'll probably have reduced holding capacity even media sales hype exaggeration as usual

COULD HAVE SHOWED A LAME PERSON HOW TO DO IT ....

Bullshit. Tapcon is rarely the best option.
