PUSHING 100 LBS!!! Catching My NEW PERSONAL BEST Blue Catfish

Wow, what a day! It was just like any other day. The first spot I tried I couldn't get a fish. I then anchored up on a current seam and loaded up on my new personal best blue catfish. The fish bottomed out on my 80 lb scale, so I had to do some measurements. There is a mathematical calculation you can use to get an accurate weight of a fish. Length X girth X girth / 800. I put in the measurements and the calculation came out to be 97.60 lbs, a new personal best for me. I am very thankful and blessed to catch a fish like this. The fish was safely released and ready to fight another day, giving another angler the fight and fish of a lifetime.

Live Bluegills for Flattys, and cut bait, or raw shrimp for channels and blues always works for me. I launch on the big TN River south of Knoxville. Watts Bar Dam area. There are some huge Catfish in there around here too, the kind that will rip your gear out of your hands if your not paying attention .. :)

Great fish! What a lot of fun that had to be landing that pig. Catfish baits used, live shad and blue gill, cut fish, shrimp and dried liver. But the undisputed king of catfish bait is a bruised and badly beaten Bucks!!

Man I can’t believe this was 2 years ago and I’m just now seeing it! This is amazing!
Raw shrimp has always been the best catfish bait for me, and I’m not that big into cat fishing either. But this video makes me want to get more into it.

My favorite catfish bait is Sonny's Super Sticky Catfish bait, blood formula. I fish for eaters mostly, no trophies. Fifteen to twenty pounders are the biggest I ever get and I put those back because they don't taste good. Mostly on Percy Priest, Old Hickory and the Cumberland here in Nashville. Lots of great catfishing here. Love your vids! Merry Christmas!

Beautiful fish Joe, When you measure a fish lay him on his belly with his nose against the edge of your boat and measure under him from nose to tip of tail closed. You measured him following down the contour of his head.Never the less he is a true beast.Congratulation, s.
